Three days Samburu National Reserve wildlife safari starts from Nairobi after pick up at your hotel or residence. It’s a safari away from the city and an opportunity to get exposed to the northern Kenya frontier. Traverse the major regions of Kenya and view Mt Kenya at a distance. You will witness the big five animals in Samburu National Reserve such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy Zebras, Reticulated giraffe, Gerenuk (Giraffe Antelope), Somali Ostrich, among other big cats like the Leopard and the Lions.

Tour Plan
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
- Pick up from your hotel or airport and depart to Samburu National Reserve located in the Northern Kenya crossing the Equator to arrive in time for lunch. At 4pm, proceed for an afternoon game viewing in the reserve which is famous for its truly wild semi-arid landscape, and the large concentration of wild animals and bird-life.
- Samburu is popular for hosting the rare Northern-Kenya animal species commonly referred to as the ‘Samburu Five’ (Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich) which are not found in the other popular parks and reserves in Kenya. It is also home to all the African big cats (Lion, Cheetah and Leopard), alongside other big game including Elephants, Buffaloes, Warthogs, Hippos, Impalas, Water-bucks and many others.
- Dinner and overnight will be at Samburu Sopa Lodge or similar.
Day 2: Full day in Samburu
- Wake up for breakfast and then proceed to spend the whole day exploring Samburu National Reserve which offers a wide range of attractions. It is home to the Samburu tribe who are also pastoralists. Ewaso Nyiro River which runs along the Southern boundary is home to crocodiles and hippos with the many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day. In Samburu you are likely to spot buffalo, leopard, lion, cheetah, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe and other plains game.
- Dinner and overnight will be at Samburu Sopa Lodge or similar.
Day 3: Samburu to Nairobi
- On this day you will have an optional early morning game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast. Afterwards you’ll have the option to visit a local Samburu village where you’ll be able to interact with the locals (at extra cost).
- Afterwards depart for Nairobi with a stopover on the way for lunch to arrive in Nairobi in the evening with drop of at the hotel or the airport for your onward plans.
